My Books at the Library

Both of my books, Leirah and the Wild Man and The Grove of Thorismud, are available to borrow from the Delta Township District Library, as print or ebook editions. You can use Hoopla to borrow the ebook from anywhere, as long as you have a card number for a participating library, and you can request print books through interlibrary loan from any library in Michigan.

It is dreamy to see my books on the shelf at my gorgeous neighborhood library!

And it is thrilling to *not* see my books on the shelf because they have been checked out!!

Borrowing a print book or ebook from a library is the way to go if you want to read a book but can't afford to buy it. Did you know that when you buy and return a book, whether in print or as an ebook, the author can be charged a fee? That's why you might have heard authors on #BookTok describing planned book returns as stealing. It's so damaging that it forces some authors to pull their books from publication because they can't afford to pay for people to keep buying and returning their books. Borrowing from the library, on the other hand, doesn't cost authors anything, and libraries pay small fees to authors for the use of their books.

So please, patronize your local library and read all the free books you like! If you would like to check out my books in print and your local library doesn't have access, just ask them to order a copy for you, and they probably will! I have priced my books minimally for libraries to order, just because I love them.

As an author, it's a great honor and pleasure to know that my books are out there, reaching people who want to read them, regardless of their ability to pay. If you like them, please say thanks by recommending the book to someone else you know in person, leaving a review online, or making a social media post about it. Your patronage is what makes it possible for authors to continue creating novels for the world to enjoy.

Happy reading!
